Kyra Minturn

 Kyra Minturn (born August 19, 1965), is an American actress from the United States. Her most well-known character is that of the Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson, on TNT's crime series The Closer. In her role as Johnson, Sedgwick won a Golden Globe Award in 2007 and an Emmy Award in 2010. After the seventh season Sedgwick won an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award in 2007 as well as an Emmy Award in the year 2010. The show ended on August 13th on the 13th of August, 2012. Sedgwick is also known for her recurring character in the role of Madeline Wuntch, on the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Sedgwick was nominated for a Golden Globe award in 1995 for her performance on Something to Talk About. Her film credits include Oliver Stone's Born in July (1989) as well as Cameron Crowe's Individuals (1992) as well as Heart and Souls (1993), Phenomenon (1996), What's cooking (2000) as well as Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2011) are as well. Sedgwick was born New York City to Patricia Rosenwald (nee Rosenwald), who works as a speech/family therapist, and Henry Dwight Sedgwick as a venture investor. Her mother was Jewish, and her father was Episcopalian. She was also of English origins. Sedgwick has declared publicly her Jewish heritage and has said she is a part of Passover seders.
