Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman from America. The Corcoran Group was a New York City real estate brokerage she established. NRT purchased it for $66 million in 2001. Corcoran soon exited the company. Corcoran was one of ABC's original Shark investors, has been a part of every episode of Shark Tank. As of February 2020, she has made 53 deals on the show, the largest one being $350,000 in 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran was born in Edgewater (New Jersey) as the second child of ten from a working-class Irish Catholic family. [8] Her mother, Florence, was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He was constantly moving between jobs and the next throughout Corcoran's youth. The family relied sometimes on the free food delivery from a friendly local supermarket. Corcoran remembers her father as an intoxicated man who would sometimes treat her mother with contempt and disrespect, particularly after having consumed alcohol. Corcoran was a struggle in school and was diagnosed with dyslexia. Corcoran started high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood after having attended an Catholic primary school. Corcoran completed her studies at Leonia High School with a diploma in English, despite having failed several classes during her freshman years.
